When using color identification in games the robots eye (digital camera) must be acclimated to the gaming arena lighting so that it may identify colors accurately. To do this The RGB screen is used to help acclimate the camera to the current gaming arena lighting system. No two gaming arenas are equally lit by exactly the same light and digital cameras of any kind need to be shown a white space as a reference for balancing all the colors. Here we just put the robot 30cm in front of a blank white wall then click on the WhiteBal button to set the White Balance. Then the user can test the different team colors for accuracy. First set the robot about 30cm or 1ft. away facing the whitest space on a wall inside the gaming arena. Using a piece of the whitest paper you can find helps very much. With the robot set to the RGB screen you then click on the WhiteBal button at the top as the robot is looking at a clean, clear white piece of paper on the wall. This balances the lighting colors. To test the WhiteBalance you simply set different team colors in front of the robot and watch if the RGB screen to see if it accurately identifies the different colors.
